Receive preliminary direction
When enough information is available, PantherByte may provide a preliminary, non-binding service recommendation, price range, or timeline range for budgeting.
Authorize discovery when needed
Projects requiring technical investigation, requirements analysis, workflow mapping, architecture planning, platform selection, or dependency review begin with a separately approved paid discovery and scoping engagement.
Review the implementation scope
After the applicable discovery work is completed, PantherByte prepares the proposed implementation scope, exclusions, assumptions, dependencies, acceptance criteria, level-of-effort estimate, project fee, and delivery plan.
Authorize implementation
Implementation begins only after the applicable agreements are signed, the required 50% deposit is received, and all project materials, approvals, access, and dependencies are ready — the point at which the turnaround clock starts. The remaining 50% is due on delivery.

The engineer behind PantherByte.
PantherByte's founder has 2+ years of experience building production software — database-driven web applications, automated ETL pipelines, and admin portals — contributing to 15+ NASA and JHUAPL mission platforms while at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. That work was performed as part of her role at JHUAPL; NASA and JHUAPL are not PantherByte clients and do not endorse it.
PantherByte brings that same engineering discipline to the systems behind a growing business — not just the website, but the automation, dashboards, and internal tools that run the operation. You work directly with the engineer building it, in Python, JavaScript, PHP, SQL, and cloud-native tooling, and you own the custom deliverables.

How is PantherByte different from an agency?
Every service is productized — a fixed deliverable, a defined scope, and a clear timeline — and you talk to the engineer doing the work. You can also start small and keep building with the same partner as the business grows, from your first website to the internal systems behind it.
Do you work with businesses outside Maryland?
Yes. PantherByte is based in Maryland and serves the Montgomery County and DC metro area, but most work is delivered remotely across the US.
What if I just have a vague problem and don't know what I need?

If we need to go deeper, an optional paid strategy session or technical diagnostic is available, quoted in writing before you decide.
Will I own the code and systems you build?
After full payment, you own the custom deliverables identified in the SOW, subject to applicable third-party licenses and reusable components. I deliver documentation and a clean handoff, so you're never locked into a platform.
Can you keep maintaining it after launch?
Yes. After the project, optional monthly care plans cover monitoring, updates, backups, security checks, and small enhancements on a flat fee.
